What is Reskinned?

We want our products to be loved, worn for years to come and get as much use as possible, which is why we’ve partnered with Reskinned. We have chosen to work with Reskinned because there is full transparency of where items end up and no product goes to landfill.

Oliver Bonas Reskinned takeback initiative 

With the takeback initiative, you can trade in your pre-loved Oliver Bonas clothing, footwear, accessories, and bags for credit to spend on new items online. The service offers you a free and easy way to breathe new life into the Oliver Bonas items that no longer have a place in your wardrobe. They will refresh, revive and rehome items with other happy customers, or responsibly recycle items that have been loved to bits and cannot be resold. This means none of the material is wasted.
 
 But we’re not just interested in keeping your OB products out of landfill - if you return 2 or more OB products, you can also return up to 15kg of other unwanted clothing, if it is in good condition and still fit for another life.

What happens to my clothes?

At Reskinned it’s their philosophy to get clothing into the hands of the people who will value them the most. They believe in prioritizing re-use over recycling. 

The production of clothing uses a lot of precious resources and we believe it’s our duty to maximise the life of every garment. Items that are suitable to be worn again are cleaned and may have minor repairs attended to. Good quality items will then be re-listed on the Reskinned marketplace to enable them to be loved by a new owner. If they don’t meet the marketplace quality standards, they will make them available elsewhere.

They subscribe to the ‘proximity principle’, and look to prioritise garment reuse in the market where an item was traded in. If that’s not possible they will export to another market where they know there is demand for that item. Reskinned's sister company has been in the textile recycling industry for more than 20 years and have connections around the world for everything from summer shirts to wetsuits. 

If it can be re-worn, They'll try and find a new home for it! If your item has had a long and hard life, then they will recycle it.

How do I get started and how does it work?

1. Add the Oliver Bonas items you want to return to your takeback basket. Simply select your return items using our easy online tool. They'll step you through the process.

2. Package up your items and take to the courier drop point. We don’t want to create unnecessary packaging so re-use a delivery box, or a fashion delivery bag you already have. So long as it’s clean and strong enough to survive the journey, that’s great.
 
3. They will verify your trade-in and send you a one-time use discount code. Once they’ve received your takeback, they’ll verify it and then email you a discount code for qualifying items.

4. Shop at Oliver Bonas! Your old item is being given another life, now it's time to spend that discount code at Oliver Bonas online.
